art vs. TV

The Gothic cathedral provided humans the first relief from the hot fields and daily grind of daily work. Stepping into the cooler interior, marble floors underfoot with the towering stone ceiling arching overhead, the human eye would find the primary colors fitted into the 'fractal-like" shape of the rose window.

Today the glass window is held in the hand of the visitor, looking down.

Once impressed by the luminous nature of colored glass, medieval people gazed, in shock and awe, at the beauty of the Gothic Rose Windows illuminated by the sun.

Today, around the world, the back-lit image of high definition "reality" places our evolved civilization at home with the remote lifestyle as voyeur.
